Work was such a slow day... I can't wait to read these on the train home. Hopefully I'll have some short reviews to follow.

Band of the Moment: Trapped Under Ice

Hailing from my hometown of Baltimore, Trapped Under Ice is currently one of the biggest bands in hardcore. I saw them about a year and a half ago, opening for Reign Supreme in Long Island. The show was great, with tons of energy. While I liked their sound, I never got around to really listening to their music on my own. A few months ago, I listened to their new album Secrets of the World and set off a new obsession. This band has eveything you could need in a hardcore band--chugging guitar riffs, brutal breakdowns, throat clearing vocals, and surprisingly deep lyrics. It has the perfect mix between a late-90s hardcore sound, metal, and today's newer breed of hardcore.

Book Review: Rabbit, Run

Along my journey to read the most influential novels of all time, I came across John Updike’s Rabbit Run. While a fantastic book with remarkable prose, this must be one of the saddest books I’ve read in recent memory. I found it just as easy to empathize with each character as I did to despise. To quickly summarize, the book chronicles the wandering journey of the philandering Rabbit, an ex-high school basketball star who is growing increasingly dissatisfied with his domesticated life.

Welcome to Bad Scene, Everyone's Fault. This is my first foray into the blogosphere so please bear with me.

Why am I writing a blog? Why not? Let's face it, I'm a 20-something nerd having a quarterlife crisis. Who wouldn't want to read my inner-most thoughts and secrets? I know I would.

It's hard to say what anyone can expect from this project. I'll be posting rambling incoherent rants, news articles that peak my interest, random interests and obsessions (I have many), pictures, thought provoking theoretical dialogue, whiny complaints about my personal life, thrift store purchases, funny links, excessive punctuation and comma usage... I'll have it all!

So tune in. Maybe you'll find something interesting. Maybe...
